Tasmanian Oak
Tasmanian Oak or Victorian Ash are the primary source of timber floorboards found in Melbourne. However neither of these timbers is an actual species but interchangeable trade names for a group of southern Australian eucalypts.
There are three common sizes of these floorboards;
83 mm x 19 mm ($4.60 per lineal metre, $55 per square metre)
108 mm x 19 mm ($5.95 per lineal metre, $55 per square metre)
133 mm x 19 mm ($7.35 per lineal metre, $55 per square metre)
As well as less common sizes such as 63 mm, 88-90mm and 139-140 mm. In a lot of pre World War two homes the boards thickness is 22mm.
Melbourne Recycled Timber Floorboards normally stock a large amount of the three common sizes and occasionally the less common boards. It's worth a call or email to find out what we currently hold. With flooring from hundreds of houses and buildings coming through the business chances are we have what you want.
